Unsettled weather pattern brings sun, chance of rain and thunderstorms to Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Showers and thunderstorms are expected Monday and Tuesday as low pressure moves into southern California, affecting the Lake Tahoe Basin. Unsettled weather continues next week with additional chances of showers and isolated afternoon thunderstorms. Temperatures will remain close to seasonal averages this week, and possibly becoming warmer than average by next week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

Monday - A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming northeast around 5 mph.

Monday Night - A chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight, then a slight chance of rain after midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 35. West wind around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.

Tuesday - A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Calm wind becoming northwest around 5 mph in the afternoon.

Tuesday Night - A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight. Partly cloudy, with a low around 34. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 63.

Wednesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 34.

Thursday - A slight chance of showers, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms after noon. Mostly sunny, with a high near 59.
