School Board Has Two Part - Day Long Meeting Tuesday

The LTUSD Board gets out of the board room and into the schools Tuesday as they have their Annual Student Lunch meeting. They will have lunch with about 20 selected students at South Tahoe High in the new Student Union. The students are a cross section of seniors who will be sharing their thoughts with the board.

STHS teach Candi Lincoln will introduce the students that won awards in the 2014 California Streaming Digital Photography Contest, Congressional Art Competition, National Scholastic Award, Lake Tahoe Community College, and Performing Arts Booster Association (PABA) competitions.

That portion of the meeting will end at 1:30 p.m. and the board will reconvene at 5 p.m. at the district offices for a closed session meeting which will cover hiring of substitute school office assistant, substitute secretary, school psychologist intern and teachers, as well as the resignation of the Alternative Education Principal. Closed session will also include labor negotiations with the South Tahoe Educators Association and California School Employees Association.

The open LTUSD Board Meeting will start at 6 p.m. Decisions will be made on improvements at the Al Tahoe Ball Field, new floors at Tahoe Valley Elementary, replacements of computer servers, UPS electrical phone and network system as well as budget and salary schedule revisions.

The big portion of Tuesday night's meeting will focus on LCAP, which South Tahoe Now reviewed last week.

The public is invited, as they always are, to attend and speak during the LTUSD Board Meeting.

The meeting will be held at the District Offices, located at 1021 Al Tahoe Blvd.
