Lake Tahoe area roadwork June 20 - 25

LONG-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected by summer 2017.

June 20-24 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Mankato Place to Ward Creek: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control around the clock from 10 a.m. Monday until 10 a.m. Friday for roadway excavation. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from Sequoia Avenue North to Cathedral Way from 7 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Friday for pavement work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to just north of the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in summer 2017.

June 20-24 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Eagle Point Campground: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 2 a.m. to noon Monday through Thursday and 2 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for shoulder work and permanent erosion control.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced. Completion is expected this fall.

June 20-24 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 13th Street to West Way: Southbound motorists can expect the #2 lane and shoulder closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from West Way to Pope Beach Road from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Wednesday through Friday for curb and gutter work.

State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements. June 20-24 - State Route 28 (Placer County) from the junction with State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street: Motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday for striping. Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from Beach Avenue to Deer Street from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m. Monday through Friday for utility work. Motorists also can expect the eastbound and westbound shoulders to be closed from Fox Street to Beaver Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to noon Friday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County): The Silva Valley Interchange, a $57 million project by El Dorado County to construct a new overcrossing over U.S. Highway 50 in El Dorado Hills, is now open to traffic, but some highway lane closures may still be required to finish the work. SHORT-TERM PROJECTS
State Route 28 (Placer County) from Agate Road to Agatam Avenue East: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for grinding and paving work.

State Route 28 (Placer County) from Chipmunk Street to the Nevada state line: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday for utility work.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Koki Lane to Pleasant Valley Road West: Motorists can expect long-term one-way traffic control around the clock for emergency utility work to fix a broken sewer line.

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) at Coloma Street in Placerville: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday for curb, gutter and sidewalk work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Cameron Park Road: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Red Hawk Parkway: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Saturday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Bedford Avenue to Canal Street in Placerville: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday and 10 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday for utility work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Schnell School Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control on Schnell School Road from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from F Street to the junction with State Route 89 in Meyers: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed at various locations from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for drain cleaning.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Truckee Drive to River Drive: Eastbound motorists can expect lane closures around the clock from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Friday for gas line utility work. Westbound motorists also can expect the #2 lane closed from Trout Creek to Tulare Avenue around the clock from 7 a.m. Monday to 7 a.m. Friday.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Cherry Street to Trout Street in Homewood: Southbound motorists and bicyclists can expect the right shoulder closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday for bridge work on the multi-use path extension.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at Rock Creek Road: Motorists can expect long-term signalized one-way traffic control for emergency repair work, which is scheduled to be completed in July.

State Route 267 (Placer County) from Northstar Drive to the junction with State Route 28 in Kings Beach: Motorists can expect intermittent one-way traffic control at various locations around the clock from 6 a.m. Monday to 9 p.m. Friday for tree work and utility work.
