LONG-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 89 (Placer County): Work continues on a $70.1 million project from Tahoma to just north of Granlibakken Road in Tahoe City that is upgrading storm water drainage and treatment systems, adding curb and gutter, resurfacing and realigning the road, adding new left-turn pockets and widening shoulders on an 8-mile stretch of the highway. Completion is expected by summer 2017.
September 11-16 - State Route 89 (Placer County) from Blackwood Creek Road to Sugar Pine Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control around the clock from 10 p.m. Sunday to noon Friday for drainage and curb and gutter work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from Spruce Avenue to Sequoia Avenue North from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for roadway excavation and from Middle Sequoia Avenue to Sequoia Avenue North from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday through Friday for landscape work.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $13 million water quality improvement project from Cascade Road to the Eagle Falls Viaduct over Emerald Bay. The project is constructing new drainage facilities to treat stormwater runoff and repaving a four-mile section of the highway. Completion is expected in summer 2017.
September 12-16 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from Cascade Road to Bayview Campground/Vista Point: Motorists can expect a full highway closure from 4 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday for grinding and paving work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control in this area from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday for grinding and paving.

State Route 89 (El Dorado County): Work continues on a $25 million project from the "Y" junction with U.S. Highway 50 in South Lake Tahoe to Cascade Road, north of Camp Richardson. Curb, gutter and sidewalks will be added in the 1.1-mile four-lane section, and the highway will be widened in the two-lane section to Visitor Center Road to provide 4-foot paved shoulders on each side. Drainage systems are also being built and the roadway is being resurfaced. Completion is expected this fall.
September 12-16 - State Route 89 (El Dorado County) from 5th Street to West Way: Northbound and southbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. for shoulder work. Motorists also can expect one-way traffic control from West Way to Cascade Road from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 11 a.m. Friday for paving.

State Route 28 (Placer County): Work continues on Placer County’s $50 million Kings Beach Commercial Core Improvement Project from State Route 267 to Chipmunk Street. Highway work includes installing curb and gutter, sidewalks, roundabouts, lighting and drainage systems to enhance pedestrian and bicycle mobility, improve safety and provide water-quality improvements. September 12-16 - State Route 28 (Placer County) from Beach Avenue to Deer Street: Eastbound motorists can expect shoulder closures from 7 a.m. to noon Monday through Friday for utility work. Eastbound motorists also can expect shoulder closures from Fox Street to Beaver Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and westbound motorists from 8 p.m. Thursday to 6 a.m. Friday and from 7 a.m. to noon Friday for utility work.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS

State Route 49 (El Dorado County) from Saint Florian Court to Borland Street/Lincoln Way: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for guardrail repairs.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Red Hawk Drive: Eastbound and westbound motorists can expect alternating lane closures from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Bedford Avenue to Canal Street: Westbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Friday for pavement work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Schnell School Road: Eastbound motorists can expect the #2 lane closed from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 5 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday for bridge work. Westbound motorists can expect the #1 lane closed from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 5 p.m. to midnight Friday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) at Sawmill Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 p.m. to 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday for bridge work.

U.S. Highway 50 (El Dorado County) from Truckee Drive to River Drive and from Trout Creek to Tulare Avenue/Al Tahoe Boulevard: Motorists should expect lane restrictions around the clock from 9 p.m. Sunday to 7 a.m. Friday for paving work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Trout Street to Cherry Street in Homewood: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday for bridge work and roadway excavation on a multi-use path extension.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Twin Crags Drive in Tahoe City to Alpine Meadows Road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 10 p.m. Sunday to 6 a.m. Monday and from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday for pavement work.

State Route 89 (Placer County) from Alpine Meadows Road to the Truckee River Bridge: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday for bridge work.

State Route 193 (El Dorado County) at the South Fork of the American River/Chili Bar: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control from 5 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday for bridge work.

State Route 267 (Placer County) from Martis Creek Bridge to the Ranger Station road: Motorists can expect one-way traffic control at various locations from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday for pavement work.
