Meet South Lake Tahoe Police Chief Brian Uhler at next 'Coffee With a Cop'

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department has been meeting with community members and visitors one day a week for the past month during "Coffee With a Cop."

Lieutenants, Sergeants and the Chief have been at the Stateline area Starbucks each Thursday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., giving everyone a chance to meet the department's administrative staff and help shape policing efforts in South Lake Tahoe.

There have been a few people who have shown up each week because they knew the SLTPD would be there, others just stop by when they see them sitting at the table.

According to Lt. David Stevenson, he did receive a comment that perhaps next time they can move to a location mid-town or at the Y which might make it easier for the community to stop by. They currently hold it at the Starbucks located at 4000 Lake Tahoe Blvd inside the Raley's shopping area.

During the morning hours they currently have "Coffee With a Cop" the Starbucks is fairly slow and there has been plenty of parking according to Stevenson.

The current schedule runs through August 27. They will look at comments and suggestions to see if a new location will be involved during the next series.
