COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There were four new confirmed cases of COVID-19 in El Dorado County Tuesday, with two of those in the Lake Tahoe region, one from Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue area and one from El Dorado Hills. All are in the 18-49-years-old age group.

The total count only changed by two due to one person's location being misidentified and another was a duplicate entry, according to county officials.

There were two new recoveries, bringing that total to 145, leaving 119 active cases.

There has been no change to the hospitalization count, with two in the ICU. There are currently no suspected cases in El Dorado County hospitals.

An addition 428 tests were administered, bringing that total to 13,344.

County-wide there have been 264 cases with 132 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting an eighth death due to COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. The individual was a male Carson City resident in his 60’s with no reported underlying conditions. CCHHS is also reporting ten new positive cases and six additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region. This brings the total number of cases to 401, with 266 recoveries and eight deaths, 127 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 20’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 80’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County in her 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 50’s with a workplace exposure.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 35 new COVID-19 cases and no new deaths in Washoe County since Monday.

Placer County

There have been 27 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Monday, with 12 of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
