Mardy Fish takes the lead at Edgewood Tahoe; Kyle Williams in second

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. - Former American professional tennis player Mardy Fish is on top of the leader board at the Amerian Century Championship after the second day of play.

Former Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Kyle Williams, yesterday's leader, came off the course in second place.

Mardy Fish set a tournament second-round record with 37 points in the Modified Stableford scoring system, breaking the old record by four points. He had ten birdies finishing the day with five straight. He also set a course record 63, breaking Lee Trevino’s 65.

"It was a dream day, for sure. I’ve been looking for one of these out here. I’ve been looking to play well," said Fish of his round.

This is the seventh time Fish has played in the Lake Tahoe celebrity tournament, finishing in the Top 5 five times, and taking second place two times.

"I was pleased with it," said Williams of his second round of golf. "I think if I can continue to hit the ball the way I have and marry it up with my putter, I think I have a good shot. Obviously, Mardy, the way he’s playing, the way he played today, he’s going to be tough to beat."

The third round of play Sunday at Edgewood Tahoe gets underway at 8:30 a.m. with the leaders teeing off at 10:15 a.m. The final day will be carried on NBC Sports starting at 12:00 p.m. PST and an encore showing on the Golf Channel at 7:00 p.m. PST. All three rounds will be shown on the Golf Channel Monday evening.
