COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - El Dorado County health officials have announced 30 new cases of COVID-19 since Friday. Of the new cases, 15 are in the Lake Tahoe region, 5 in Placerville, three in each El Dorado Hills, Diamond Springs/El Dorado, and Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, and 1 in North County.

Of those new cases, one is under the age of 18, twenty are ages 18-49, five are aged 50-64 and four 65 and older. They are even split at 15 males and 15 females.

There have been three new cases admitted to the ICU and there are currently no suspected cases hospitalized.

The County reports 22 additional estimated recoveries leaving 151 active cases at this time.

642 additional tests were administered over the weekend.

County-wide there have been 337 cases with 164 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting 26 new positive cases and 11 additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region since Friday. This brings the total number of cases to 460, with 317 recoveries and eight deaths, 135 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 70’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 60’s with a recent travel history to Texas.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 60’s with a social connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 60’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 40’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 40’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident under the age of 18 with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Lyon County resident in her 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 40’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Douglas County resident in his 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 40’s who was exposed at work.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

The Regional Information Center is reporting 182 new COVID-19 cases and five new deaths in Washoe County since Friday.

Placer County

There have been 93 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday, with two of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
