COVID-19 case update for Lake Tahoe area counties

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - In the past three days there have been an additional 36 cases of COVID-19 confirmed in El Dorado County. Of those cases, two are under the age of 18, 18 are in the age group 18-49, 11 in the 50-64-year-old groups, and five 65 and older.

Eighteen are in the Lake Tahoe region, seven in El Dorado Hills, four in Greater Placerville, three in Cameron Park/Shingle Springs/Rescue, two in Pollock Pines/Camino/Kyburz, and two in Diamond Springs/El Dorado.

425 new tests were administered county-wide. There have been 11 recoveries leaving 120 active cases. One less person is hospitalized with two currently in ICU. There are also no suspected cases in the hospital. If a patient in transferred to a hospital out of the county their number would show as a reduction and no other information is available.

The majority of these are community-acquired and half are from the Lake Tahoe region. County officials are urging people to not travel, please wear your face covering, wash your hands stay at least six feet from others when out. Compliance with these easy directives could mean the difference between businesses staying open and having to shut down again.

County-wide there have been 262 cases with 130 of those in the Lake Tahoe area (including South Lake Tahoe, Meyers, Strawberry, and Tahoma).

Quad-Counties - Carson City, Douglas, Storey, Lyon

Carson City Health and Human Services (CCHHS) is reporting 19 new positive cases and no additional recoveries of COVID-19 in the Quad-County region since Friday. This brings the total number of cases to 391, with 260 recoveries and seven deaths, 124 cases remain active.

The new cases are:
• A male Carson City resident in his 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 60’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• An adult female Lyon County resident in her teens with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 50’s with a recent travel history.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Carson City resident in his 70’s with a recent travel history.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 30’s with a recent travel history.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 80’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident under the age of 18 with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 40’s with a connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Carson City resident in her 20’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A female Douglas County resident in her 50’s with no connection to a previously reported case.
• A male Lyon County resident in his 30’s with no connection to a previously reported case.

Carson City Health and Human Services is working to identify close risk contacts to prevent further spread of the disease. Due to medical privacy requirements and to protect their identity, no further information about the cases will be released.

Washoe County

The Regional Information Center is reporting 187 new COVID-19 cases and three new deaths in Washoe County since Friday.

41 (+3) of the confirmed cases to date are in Incline Village with 8 (-3) active ones, and one recovered case in Crystal Bay.

Placer County

There have been 125 new cases of confirmed COVID-19 in Placer County since Friday, with 11 of those new cases in the Lake Tahoe area.
