SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Emanate Gallery at The Crossing in South Lake Tahoe is hosting a reception for artists Ellen Nunes and Debbie Griest on Saturday, July 20 and Sunday, July 21 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.

The gallery will have a wine reception both evenings for the artists.

Ellen Nunes finds peace in painting. Her most recent body of work focuses on her home gem, the beautiful National Treasure of Lake Tahoe. Her goal is to capture its essence, depth, and magnificence. Each one of her Lake paintings is an original work of art and is hand-milled by her husband. With great care in creating each piece, only using archival quality paint and varnish, each work ensures her collectors will enjoy their art for many years to come. She donates five percent of sales to Bread & Broth 4 Kids.

"No child should go hungry," said Ellen.

Debbie Griest’s passion to create art is inspired by her respect and appreciation for wildlife and nature. She builds on her travel experiences through the savannas of Africa, the jungles of Central and South America, and the natural habitats throughout California and the US. When out in nature Debbie is drawn to the drama of light and shadow, the emotions and feelings evoked by a particular setting, and the unique personality or presence of an animal observed. These paintings of wildlife, landscapes, and scenes from nature provide a window into the beauty of our natural environment and a glimpse into the life of wild animals who radiate power, grace, dignity, and a presence. Debbie Griest earned a Fine Arts degree from San Jose State University. She is a member of Artists for Conservation, Central Coast Art Assoc., and Monterey Peninsula Art Foundation.

Emanate Gallery is located at 2030 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
