Arrest made in early morning stabbing death in South Lake Tahoe

South Lake Tahoe police have arrested a man they believe stabbed a 57-year-old family member to death early Wednesday morning on Wildwood Avenue.

Sean-Paul Andrew MacIntire, 32, of South Lake Tahoe faces first degree murder charges in the stabbing death of Shirley Gordon, said South Lake Tahoe Police Lt. Brian Williams.

At around 1:45 a.m. Wednesday, dispatch received a 911 call from a woman reporting that her adult son, Sean-Paul Andrew MacIntire, had just stabbed their 57-year-old female family member, who had been sleeping on a couch. The caller believed the victim was dead, and reported to the 911 operator that her son was still inside their shared residence on Wildwood Avenue south of Pioneer Trail.

Officers responded and arrested MacIntire inside the residence. Medical personnel then immediately attempted to revive the victim. Resuscitation efforts continued while she was transported to Barton Memorial Hospital by ambulance, where she was declared deceased.

The victim has been identified as Shirley Gordon. Her residency is still being determined, said Williams. Detectives obtained a search warrant for the residence, and are in the process of securing evidence and interviewing the involved parties in an effort to determine how and why this crime occurred. Sean-Paul MacIntire is in custody has been booked into the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe, charged with first degree murder. The suspect’s mother is not suspected of committing any crime.
