SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - One man was transported to Barton Hospital after a single-car crash at the "Y" Friday evening.
The driver said he was experiencing a panic attack as he was stopped at the intersection of Highway 50 and Emerald Bay Road, according to South Lake Tahoe Police Sgt. Jason Cheney. The driver was heading west on the highway and waiting to turn south onto Emerald Bay Road.
According to Cheney, the driver wanted to get off the road and park but unintentionally ran a red light in the process. The driver was transported with complaints of pain. The female passenger in the car was uninjured.
As the car went through the intersection it took out a tree at the transit center.
Cheney said no drugs or alcohol are involved. He said the driver is not facing any charges.
