Moose Lodge hosts 16th annual Kid's Fishing Derby in South Lake Tahoe

The South Lake Tahoe Moose Lodge is hosting the 16th annual Kid’s Fishing
Derby on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at Tahoe Paradise Park’s Lake Baron.

The Derby is free to all children under the age of 16. Registration begins at 8:00 am at Lake Baron, near the main entrance. Hot Dogs, chips, sodas, and water are provided free to all registered children. The event wraps up at 2:00 p.m.

For the event, the Moose Lodge will plant the lake with hundreds of pounds of catchable rainbow trout, ranging from one to five pounds. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place Prizes (savings accounts at El Dorado Savings Bank) will be awarded at 2:00 p.m. for the three largest fish caught.

Each registered child also will receive a raffle ticket for a drawing to win a prize from a large selection of toys and games.

After 2:00 p.m., Lake Baron will re-open to the community for “Catch and Release” fishing only, following the Park’s new fishing regulations:

September 1 through June 30 - Catch & Release Only, Zero Limit (Barbless Artificial Lures or Flies Only/No Bait)
July 1 - August 31 - 2 Fish Limit, Family Limit 4 Fish
