Local students in grades kindergarten through eight grade can receive a free breakfast from either of the South Lake Tahoe McDonald's locations on Tuesday, September 9 from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
McDonald's in Northern California and Northern Nevada are helping children kick start their new school year with their healthy breakfast. Each student on Tuesday will receive an Egg White Delight McMuffin, apple slices and 1 percent low fat milk.
Students must be accompanied by an adult.
“Research continues to show the correlation between students starting their day with a nutritious breakfast and having a higher success rate in school,” said Amy Myrdal Miller, MS, RDN, a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist, nutrition consultant and president of Farmer’s Daughter Consulting. “McDonald’s is continuously working to evolve their menu towards providing healthier options for adults and kids, and hopefully students will take the opportunity to start their school day on Sept. 9 — and every school day after that — with a healthy breakfast.”
