Chance of snow by the end of week in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Monday is the first day of Fall! For today, expect tranquil weather conditions with a light northeast wind and cooler temperatures as a cold front makes its way out of the region. A warmup will then occur Tuesday and Wednesday before another, stronger weather system brings gusty winds late week along with much colder temperatures and shower chances Friday through the weekend.

The forecast from the National Weather Service in Reno:

Today- Sunny, with a high near 67. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming northeast in the afternoon.

Tonight - Clear, with a low around 37. East wind 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 74. East wind around 5 mph.

Tuesday Night- Mostly clear, with a low around 41. East wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday - Sunny, with a high near 77. East wind around 5 mph.

Wednesday Night -Clear, with a low around 44.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 71.

Thursday Night - A slight chance of showers. Partly cloudy, with a low around 40.

Friday - A chance of showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 60.

Friday Night - A chance of showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 33. Breezy.

Saturday - A chance of rain and snow showers. Partly sunny, with a high near 55.

Saturday Night - A chance of rain and snow showers. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 29.
