Man dies from injuries sustained in Twin Bridges motorcycle crash

A California man has died of a result of injuries received when he and his passenger were thrown from a motorcycle after crashing into a guardrail on Highway 50, east of Twin Bridges on Friday, September 29, 2017.

Fresno resident Christopher Deboer, 70, and his wife Susan, 52, were headed eastbound on their 1986 Harley Davidson Ultra Slide at an unknown speed in the area of Slippery Ford Road. Mr. Deboer allowed his motorcycle to drift from the center of the eastbound lane to the right, leaving the roadway. His motorcycle continued off the shoulder, striking the guardrail along the south edge of the road, subsequently ejecting the couple.

They were both thrown over the embankment and down the hillside, suffering major injuries. Several Good Samaritans stopped to render aid to the Deboers until emergency personnel arrived.

Both Christopher and Susan were transported via Care Flight to Renown Megional Medical Center in Reno.

Mr. Deboer received multiple lacerations and fractures and was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Mrs. Deboer also received multiple lacerations and fractures as a result of this collision.

This crash is still under investigation.
