Officers from the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) are searching for two men who drove through the parking lot at 7-11 on Pioneer Trail late Tuesday night and shot off a gun into the air.

At 11:59 p.m. on October 3, 2017, witnesses say a gold colored Ford Excursion or Ford Explorer entered the parking lot from the Lake Tahoe Boulevard side. As they traveled, the passenger put his hand out the window and shot several rounds into the air.

SLTPD Lt. David Stevenson said officers found several shell casings in the area that belong to a handgun. He said witnesses told officers they thought the two men in the car were Hispanic, but they had no other details. The vehicle was moving so quickly they didn't get a license plate number.

After the gunshots the two men in the gold car sped away and traveled on Moss Road at a high rate of speed, according to Stevenson.

There were no injuries or damage.

Anyone with information is asked to call the SLTPD at 530-542-6100.
