Search continues for missing airplane near Lake Tahoe

Poor weather has hampered the search for a pilot and his Cessna, missing since Saturday when they were expected at a Jackson, Calif., airport. The unnamed pilot was flying from Idaho.
Aircraft from CHP and Civil Air Patrol being used for a low level visual search are unable to do so as they've been unable to a visual on the ground. Search and rescue teams from El Dorado County Sheriff's Office are actively searching for the plane and pilot on the ground. Radar analysis and air forensics teams are still able to assist the ground search.
Some snow had fallen overnight in the area, but forecasts predict improved weather conditions later Monday.
Civil Air Patrol crews from both Nevada and California are on stand-by, waiting for conditions to improve.
