Search underway in Alpine County for missing hiker

ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. - Search and rescue teams were out in Alpine County on Tuesday, searching for a missing hiker.

55-year-old Bradford Dozier was last seen in Sacramento on Saturday morning. Family members said he was heading to the Carson Pass area to go hiking and hasn't been heard from since.

Dozier's car was found on Sunday at the Evergreen Trailhead but his actual destination is unknown.

Dozier is described as 5 feet 10 inches tall and 190 pounds, with brown hair and blue eyes. He was last seen wearing a dark green, long-sleeved shirt, olive hiking pants and hiking shoes or boots.

Multiple resources were at the trailhead on Tuesday morning to conduct a search.

"We have had a lot of offers to help search from family and friends," Alpine County Sheriff's Office said on Facebook. "We appreciate each and every one of you. At this time, we don't need to utilize civilians, but wanted to express our appreciation."
