Douglas County man arrested after injured woman wheeled into ER

A Gardnerville man was arrested on charges of Domestic Battery with Substantial Bodily Harm and Eluding a Peace Officer after he allegedly wheeled in a woman with major injuries into the Carson Valley Medical Center on November 19 2017.
Deputies from the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) responded to the center at 2:45 a.m. after a male walked into the Emergency Room and asked for a wheelchair. He later wheeled in a female and fled the hospital. Hospital staff was able to obtain a car description and deputies were able to locate and stop the involved vehicle on Hwy 395 in Minden, Nev.
After an investigation the driver, identified as James McNeill, age 40 from Gardnerville, was arrested and his bail was set at $50,000 cash or bond. The victim was transferred to Renown Medical Center in Reno for treatment of her injuries.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office commended the keen observation skills of the hospital staff and recognized they were instrumental in assisting in the apprehension of the alleged suspect in the violent crime.
