Lake Wind Advisory in place for most of Thursday

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno has issued a Lake Wind Advisory for Greater Lake Tahoe area including the cities of South Lake Tahoe, Tahoe City, Truckee, Markleeville, Stateline, Glenbrook, and Incline Village. It is in effect from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 26.
Winds will be from the east 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph expected with waves 1 to 3 feet.
Small boats, kayaks and paddle boards will be prone to capsizing and should remain off lake waters until conditions improve.
The Thanksgiving weekend forecast for South Lake Tahoe from NWS Reno:
Thanksgiving Day - Mostly sunny, with a high near 32. East wind around 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 20. East wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.
Friday - Sunny, with a high near 38. East wind around 5 mph.
Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 24. Southeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 45. Calm wind.
Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 26.
Sunday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 43.
Sunday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 29.
