Zawadisha is a nonprofit social enterprise whose eco-loans to rural Kenyan women help finance their livelihoods. Loans for solar lamps get toxic kerosine out of homes and make studying for school easier for kids. Rain water harvesting tanks free up nearly six hours per day so women can spend time tending to their small business. Clean cook stoves reduce the entire family's dependence upon charcoal, a costly and harmful fuel responsible for deforestation and disease. We follow up with leadership and business training to help these women maximize the potential of their loans, test out ideas, cultivate businesses, and develop their leadership skills. This isn’t charity, it’s change. Explore our work below at www.zawadisha.org or email jen@zawadisha.org.
