Wind weather advisory in affect until Thursday morning, chain controls in place

A winter weather advisory is in affect for the Lake Tahoe basin until 10:00 a.m. Thursday. New accumulations of 2-5" at lake levels, and 5-10" above.
There are chain controls up over most areas as of 9:00 p.m. Wednesday. Snow will turn to rain after 10:00 a.m. Thursday.
US 50 over Echo Summit from Meyers to Fred's Place: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
US 50 from Stateline to Carson City: Chains or Snow Tires Required.
SR 89 over Luther Pass: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
SR 89 from South Lake Tahoe to Tahoma: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
Kingsbury Grade: Chains or Snow Tires Required on SR-207 from mile post 0.0 in Douglas County to mile post 12.0 in Douglas County in Nevada.
Hwy 267 from Kings Beach to Truckee: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
Hwy 80 from Hwy 20 intersection to Truckee: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel / all wheel drive vehicles with snow treaded tires on all wheels.
SR 28 from US 50 to Kings Beach: Chains or traction devices are required.
I580: Chains or Snow Tires Required on I-580 from mile post 0.5 in Washoe County to mile post 15.0 in Washoe County in Nevada.
Mt.Rose Hwy: Chains or Snow Tires Required on SR-431 from mile post 6.3 in Washoe County to mile post 22.1 in Washoe County in Nevada.
Forecast:
Thursday - Rain and snow, becoming all rain after 10am. High near 44. Breezy, with a southwest wind 15 to 20 mph increasing to 20 to 25 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
Thursday Night - Rain. Low around 33. Windy, with a southwest wind 25 to 30 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a quarter and half of an inch possible.
Friday - Rain. High near 46. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
Friday Night - Rain. Low around 32. Breezy, with a southwest wind around 25 mph, with gusts as high as 45 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%.
