Henning Mehrens, MD, has spent over 45 years keeping the South Lake Tahoe community healthy and will be missed as he retires and is off to the next chapter of his life.
Both through his private practice as well as at Tahoe Urgent Care, Dr. Mehrens worked both tirelessly and passionately for those he cared for. Besides maintaining those offices he was also the medical director of the Skilled Nursing Facility at Barton Memorial Hospital.
“It has been an extreme pleasure to have served our community’s medical needs,” said Dr. Mehrens. He shared that he will deeply miss Lake Tahoe, however he looks forward to spending time with his family in their new hometown of Austin, Texas.
Barton Health and Dr. Mehrens are working to make this a smooth transition. His patients are being referred to board-certified family medicine practitioner, Tyler Peterson, DO, at Barton Family Medicine. Medical records will be securely transferred to Dr. Peterson’s office, and patients can call 530.543.5660 to schedule an appointment to establish care and update their prescriptions.
