June 14, 2023 - 4:30pm Jesse Brewster is a roots-music Renaissance man — a singer/songwriter, producer, and multi-instrumentalist who's spent the better part of two decades sharpening his personal brand of West Coast Americana. It’s a sound that’s every bit as diverse as his background. Raised by hippie parents in the mountains of northern California, the Big Island of Hawaii, and the San Francisco Bay Area, Jesse grew up on the move, attending 10 different schools by the time he turned 12 years old.

Bobcat hanging out at Lake Tahoe Community College
Submitted by paula on Mon, 01/30/2023 - 10:00pmSOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Susan Baker and Sara Pierce were walking outside of Lake Tahoe Community College on Monday, January 30 when they came across the bobcat pictured above.
Sightings of the beautiful creatures have been occurring throughout the South Shore this winter. In one photo above, Don Flint saw one in a yard off of Pioneer Trail.
Bobcats used to rarely be seen around the Lake Tahoe Basin, or perhaps it was being more elusive and not allowing themselves to be seen, but they are making their presence known this winter.
They always elicit excitement when spotted.
Photo of Lake Tahoe after the big snowstorm in December
Submitted by paula on Thu, 12/29/2022 - 12:43pmThe big snowstorm that hit Lake Tahoe than began with rain on Saturday, Dec. 10, 2022, turned into classic Sierra Cement by nightfall. Local Bob Buehler took this photo and created a video that can be seen here: https://vimeo.com/784691631.
The storm didn't snow there and another few feet continued to fall on top. Then the temperatures dropped into the teens for several days causing everything to freeze up and turn into ice.
These images were taken along the east shore of Tahoe in Snug Harbor with Mt. Tallac in full view to the west-southwest.
