SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Get your Halloween started off on Sunday, October 31 at Hope Lutheran Church in South Lake Tahoe at their Trunk or Treat event.

From 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., enjoy apple cider as the young ones go from car to car (trunk to trunk) in the church's parking lot at 930 Julie Lane.

The 26th running of the Lake Tahoe Marathon moves to Oct. 29-31, 2021

With the evacuation of South Lake Tahoe due to the Caldor Fire, and the smoke that has filled the Lake Tahoe Basin over recent weeks, organizers of the Lake Tahoe Marathon have moved the event out for three week. The 26th running of the popular event will now be held October 29-31, 2021.

There are still spots available in the over dozen events that take place on all sides of Lake Tahoe, plus the Tahoe Trifecta and Tahoe Triple. The Optimist Club Pumpkin Fun Run is also returning.

Christmas Valley Pumpkin Patch to raise funds for those who lost homes in Caldor and Tamarack Fires

The Celio Family is opening their historic ranch for the Christmas Valley Pumpkin Patch on October 16 and 17 to raise funds for families who lost their homes in the Caldor and Tamarack Fires.

Flames came near the ranch, but it was saved and now the Celios are inviting the community out for two days of fun and "fun"raising from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

There will be a pumpkin patch, corn stock maze, petting zoo, arts and crafts, raffle, live music, food and more with all proceeds going to the Community Disaster Resource Center - Lake Tahoe, a 501(c)3.

Sacred Space – Releasing and Receiving community event

Over the past year, with all that’s happened in the world and in our community, and now with the Caldor Fire, the Lake Tahoe Community Presbyterian Church hopes community members will stop by the church parking lot to share stories, express grief as well as gratitude, and explore steps to process all that this means in your own life and in our collective life as a community.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - There have been several recent reports of a mother bear and her three cubs hanging out from the Pope Beach area to the Tahoe Keys. This video, sent to us from Nick, shows them frolicking on the shore at Pope Beach on July 6.

People should know they should never approach bears, no matter how cute them appear, never feed them and be "bear aware" when in the Lake Tahoe Basin.
