Vail CEO and his wife donate $2.5M to communities their resorts are located

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Once again, Vail Resorts' CEO Rob Katz and his wife Elana Amsterdam are giving back to the communities where their employees live and where their company operates.
Today, they announced a donation of more than $2.5 million to provide immediate support to those areas as all contend with the severe impacts of COVID-19.
Immediate emergency relief grants will total $1.5 million and will be distributed to communities including South Lake Tahoe.

The El Dorado County Food Bank is bringing its monthly truck to South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, June 26.
It comes to down monthly from May-October and brings food, fresh fruits and vegetables to families in need.
They will be in the parking lot of St. Theresa Church at 1041 Lyons Avenue, South Lake Tahoe from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Other dates they will be in South Lake Tahoe, all at the same location and time:
July 24th
August 28th
September 25th
October 23rd

Once a month, the food bank stops in South Lake Tahoe to distribute emergency supplemental groceries to those who need it most. Volunteers will be assisting in handing out food and signing people in. The Food Bank of El Dorado County will be back in South Lake Tahoe at the American Legion Hall on Wednesday, March 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to distribute food to those in need of emergency supplemental groceries.
They are also looking for volunteers from the community to assist from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Volunteers will be assisting in handing out food and signing people in. They will be supplying qualifying individuals and families with a free Farmer's Market.
There is one allocation per household.
