Mobile food bank to be in South Lake Tahoe

Event Date:
October 28, 2015 - 10:00am

Are you, or someone you know, in need of emergency food supplies? The Food Bank of El Dorado County in partnership with California Emergency Food Link will be in South Lake Tahoe to host a Mobile Food Pantry Distribution on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. to bring food to those who need it most.

They welcome any locals who are struggling to make ends meet to come to the American Legion parking lot during that hour to receive supplemental groceries and fresh produce. The Food Bank will provide one allocation per household. The Legion is located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd in South Lake Tahoe.

The Food Bank of El Dorado County built its mobile food pantry in 2012 to reach the most rural areas of El Dorado County. Each week the Food Bank travels to a different city within the county distributing enough food for up to 150 families. “Our mobile food pantry is an effective vehicle for assisting El Dorado County’s most at-risk population in areas that may have limited transportation and resources,” Food Bank Founder Mike Sproull said.

If your organization or business is interested in sponsoring a distribution please contact the Food Bank.
