Mobile food bank to be in South Lake Tahoe; Volunteers needed

The Food Bank of El Dorado County will be back in South Lake Tahoe at the American Legion Hall on Wednesday, March 23 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. to distribute food to those in need of emergency supplemental groceries.

They are also looking for volunteers from the community to assist from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Volunteers will be assisting in handing out food and signing people in. Families or individuals that live in El Dorado County who are struggling to make ends meet will be given one allocation of food supplies. Recipients must also meet the State of California Health and Social Services Agency Emergency Food Assistance Program income guidelines. Income guidelines can be found online at www.dss.cahwnet.gov/efap/.

The American Legion Hall is located at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd in South Lake Tahoe

The Food Bank of El Dorado County is one of the most efficient and effective charities in El Dorado County. Aside from its ability to provide a six to one return for their donor’s dollar, volunteers and community support are the main reasons for the Food Bank’s success.
