The mobile food pantry from El Dorado County Food Bank will be in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday, July 27 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the American Legion parking lot. For over 15 years the non-profit has brought food to the South Shore. Besides the food bags from local residents in need, the food bank also delivers to several non-profits in town including Senior Plaza and Bread and Broth.

During the summer and fall, extra fresh produce is added to the distributions.

The Food Bank of El Dorado County is in need of eight to ten volunteers in South Lake Tahoe on Wednesday May 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. to help with their mobile food pantry.

Once a month, the food bank stops in South Lake Tahoe to distribute emergency supplemental groceries to those who need it most. Volunteers will be assisting in handing out food and signing people in. One allocation of emergency supplemental groceries will be given per qualifying household. Those who are struggling to make ends meet, live in El Dorado County and meet the State of California Health and Social Services Agency Emergency Food Assistance Program income guidelines may stop by for food distribution. Once a month, the Food Bank of El Dorado County visits South Lake Tahoe with a mobile food pantry to distribute emergency supplemental groceries to those who need it most. They will be there rain or shine.

They welcome any locals who are struggling to make ends meet to come to the American Legion parking lot during that hour to receive supplemental groceries and fresh produce. The Food Bank will provide one allocation per household.

Emergency food for the South Lake Tahoe community is available on Wednesday, July 23 when the Food Bank of El Dorado County brings their mobile pantry to town.

They are providing a free farmer's market and mobile food pantry at the American Legion Hall at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

One allocation per household is available.

All organizations that assist clients who are living with hunger, from children to the elderly are invited to attend the Food Bank of El Dorado County's Hunger Response Network Meeting. The meeting will be at the American Legion Hall at 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m.

The need for food assistance is growing in the community and the Food Bank wants to collaborate with local organizations to conduct a South lake Tahoe focused hunger to truly understand the community’s needs and the best ways to allocate the Food Bank’s resources in Tahoe based on these results.
