Edgewood acquired the C&M Lodge in order to reuse the associated Transient Occupancy Units (TAUs) on its new Lodge Project at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, according to a news release.

For those unfamiliar with them, they are the seeds of the Pinon Pine Tree, which is the official tree of the State of Nevada. The Pinon is a fairly short, bushy looking, rather unattractive, full-of-pitch tree and it is one of the main physical features of our Great Basin area.

Beginning Oct. 1, Tahoe boat inspections will move to select launch ramps and winter hours will begin. Tahoe Resource ConservatioN District inspectors will do inspections and decontaminations at Cave Rock and Lake Forest boat launches from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. seven days a week, and inspections only (no decontaminations) are available at Sand Harbor, Thursday through Monday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Thunderstorms move over Lake Tahoe
Submitted by Editor on Sun, 09/11/2011 - 5:31pmA band of thunderstorms, carrying pea to marble-sized hail, heavy wind and lightning has moved over the Lake Tahoe region late Sunday. The National Weather Service in Reno began tracking the strong thunderstorm system near Carnelian Bay on the north side of Lake Tahoe nears Kings Beach.
The storm, moving southwest at around 10 mph, carries many lightning bolts, moderate rain amounting to about one half inch per hour, which is reducing visibility in the basin to less than three miles.
