5:00 p.m. - Coroner's Investigation, South Lake Tahoe

NORTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - More details have emerged from Saturday's deadly shooting in Tahoe City where Octavio Villa-Villanueva, 33, of Sparks, Nevada was killed and another man shot inside a car parked at the Boatworks Mall.

The suspect in the shooting, 52-year-old Salvador Murillo-Cabrera of Reno, was found deceased in a bathroom at St. Peter Canisius Catholic Church in the Sun Valley area of Reno on Sunday, apparently committing suicide during church services.

A man with ties to South Lake Tahoe has been arrested in connection with the murder of 60-year-old Helen McKinney.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office (EDSO) announced Sunday that 26-year-old Tanner Michael Seals is in the Adams County Jail in Washington State after being arrested on an out-of-state warrant on January 31. He was interviewed by EDSO detectives and will be extradited to El Dorado County and charged with murder.

UPDATE 1/29/19 - The South Lake Tahoe store where the suspect allegedly committed the crimes against children was the Goodwill store at the Y. The South Lake Tahoe Police Department is thanking Goodwill and their employees for the "tremendous amount of help we got from them." They are crediting the store's quick response and assistance that allowed them to identify this suspect.

The suspect, Sergio Antonio Recendiz-Rodriguez, was not an employee at the store.

A probable cause arrest report released Friday by the Carson City Sheriff's Office on 19-year-old murder suspect Wilber Ernesto Martinez-Guzman contains a confession under Miranda.

According to the arrest report, Guzman told investigators that firearms stolen from the house of Jerry and Sherri David, the elderly South Reno couple found murdered in their home, were buried in the area of Sedge Road in East Carson City.

UPDATE 1/23/19 - The suspect in the quadruple murder in Northern Nevada was in the country illegally from El Salvador when he was arrested on January 19, 2019. Tips received by law enforcement led them to Wilbur Ernesto Martinez-Guzman, and as they built a murder case they started to tail him. Immigration officials were unaware of Martinez-Guzman until those tips came in.

Officials did not want to lose the suspect and arrested him on immigration charges as the investigation continued and the murder case developed.

UPDATE 1.20.19 - The 19-year-old man who was arrested in Carson City Saturday night is the suspect in all four Northern Nevada murders according to law enforcement. CARSON CITY, Nev. - One person is in custody tonight in connection with the investigation into Wednesday's double homicide in South Reno.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A 71-year-old local man has been arrested for the murder of his 65-year-old female roommate.

James Byron Cleveland was arrested by the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) after they responded to a Carson Avenue residence on a call of an injured woman on Sunday, January 13, 2019.

A man was taken into custody late Sunday night after leading Douglas County Sheriff’s Office deputies on a high speed pursuit that began in the Dresslerville area.

The pursuit began around 10 p.m. when the driver attempted to run over a sheriff’s deputy, according to dispatch via scanner. The pursuit ended at 10:43 p.m. with the man in custody after he had ditched the vehicle he was driving and fled on foot. Speeds during the pursuit were up to 125 mph.

The pursuit shut down multiple roads as the Nevada Highway Patrol and other agencies also intervened.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A 27-year-old South Lake Tahoe man picked the wrong vehicle to try and carjack and is now behind bars for his actions, facing several charges including attempted kidnapping.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - What started out as car crash involving a suspected drunk driver turned out much differently for the South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) on New Year's Eve.

Officers responded to a report of a traffic collision in the 800 block of Los Angeles Avenue on December 31. Upon arrival they found that a Chevrolet Silverado had struck a parked car and a bear box. The driver, 33-year-old Victor Alfonso Ramos-Eucendo of South Lake Tahoe, appeared to be intoxicated.

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) is asking for the public’s assistance in two recent cases they are working on.

They are attempting to identify a suspect in a slot machine cash voucher theft at Harrah's Tahoe. The unidentified male cashed out the winnings of another person from a slot machine on December 2, 2018.

12:43 p.m. - Burglary - Rubicon Trail, Tahoma - A CABIN WAS BURGLARIZED.

STATELINE, Nev. - The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a stolen vehicle case.

On October 24, 2018, a vehicle was stolen from the parking garage at Harveys Lake Tahoe. The car was recovered in South Lake Tahoe shortly after the theft.

Investigators working on the case have now turned to the public to see if a person of interest can be identified. That person's photo is above.

Many people do not get to see their loved ones as often as they would like. The holidays offer an opportunity to not only reconnect with and visit parents, grandparents and other loved ones, but to ensure that they are staying safe.

11/1/18 update: More details have come to light surrounding the officer involved shooting of an armed robbery suspect in Meyers on Monday.

There were three warrants for the arrest of Billy Jo Johnson on Monday, one from each South Lake Tahoe, Douglas County and Carson City. Law enforcement from each agency were working together on their cases in an attempt to locate and arrest the 34-year-old Johnson.
