Lake Tahoe Community College's Community Education series is offering "Get Fresh & Healthy - Food the Kids Will Love Too!" this Thursday from 6 pm to 9 pm at the main campus kitchen. Class participants will explore techniques of cooking with fresh fruits and vegetables in this inclusive hands-on workshop. February 2, 2012 (All day) The Community Education department at Lake Tahoe Community College presents “Get Fresh and Healthy” workshop series. This is a series of four workshops; however you can register for individual workshops OR for all four together! Each workshop is ONLY $38!!
• Cooking with Spices is on Thursday, February 2nd from 6pm-9pm.
This exciting workshop will help you learn to elevate the flavor of foods by using different herb and spice blends. The facilitator of this workshop is local and master gardener, Diane Weidinger.
• The Winter Soup Workshop is on Friday, February 10th from 6pm-9pm.

Regional transportation issues will be focus of November workshops

The Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization will host two workshops November 1 and 3 to get public input on transportation priorities. The workshops are part of a four-year update of the Regional Transportation Plan (Mobility 2035) being carried out by TMPO and the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency. The agencies encourage public input to better serve the needs of the community, according to TRPA Transportation Planning Manager Nick Haven.

Joint Tahoe Regional Planning Agency meeting on Oct. 26 to review code ordinances

As part of its Lake Tahoe Regional Plan Update, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency recently released the public draft of an overhauled Code of Ordinances that is already more than one pound lighter in print than the current code. Most of the changes in the draft document will not need to wait for the TRPA’s scheduled adoption of the Regional Plan Update in 2012 to take effect. The TRPA Governing Board could vote to adopt the reformatted and more understandable version of the code in November of this year, according to the Agency.
