This week's Green Thumb, "Get Wild In Your Garden," will teach how to welcome native plants, beneficial insects and those wonderful pollinators to your garden. Bring all your gardening questions and concerns 5:30pm-6:30pm, July 30, Tuesday, at the Tahoe City Field Station (2400 Lake Forest). Refreshments provided.

FREE workshop presentation by Dorothy Dumbra, Clinical Nutritionist and R.N. Specialized Kinesiologist on Tuesday, July 9th from 6-7pm. Beginning Tuesday, June 25, The UC Davis Lake Tahoe Environmental Research Center will kick off the Green Thumb Workshop Series with a talk about "Food Gardening 101" featuring Christy Daugherty, formerly from the U.S. Forest Service and now part of the Lake Tahoe Master Gardeners.

TahoeChamber has partnered with the CONNECT Community Education program at Lake Tahoe Community College to offer a certified QuickBooks workshop series designed to save you money and time. This three-part series, taught by Nationally Certified Expert QuickBooks Instructor Christa Peterson, will help you learn to use QuickBooks properly and with confidence.

The new and updated TahoeChamber website for South Shore Lake Tahoe will be the focus of the next Tech Tuesday talk. The event is March 5, from 8-9:30am in the TahoeChamber Conference Room, 169 U.S. Highway 50

TahoeChamber and Lake Tahoe Community College’s Connect Community Education program are partnering to offer two marketing workshops to be presented by Constant Contact.
On Feb. 20, from 4-5:30pm, Constant Contact representatives will be going over numerous ways to “Supercharge Your Facebook Marketing.”

Beginning Tuesday, Feb. 5 from 8-9:30am, TahoeChamber will kick-off a new workshop series, Tech Tuesdays. These one and half hour workshops will cover the hottest trends in technology.

The series opener will touch on the basics of Social Media and will be taught by Jenn Gleckman of Strategic Marketing Group. Jenn is very well versed in strategic planning, integrated media planning and buying, website development and maintenance, social media programs, and email marketing programs.

The Tahoe Transportation District will host its second public workshop to discuss the US 50, Lake Tahoe South Shore Community Revitalization project, Wednesday, November 7, at Embassy Suites from 1-3 p.m.

The Lake Tahoe workshop will provide background on the project, outline goals and solicit input from individuals throughout the community. The open house format allows for members of the community to participant in the workshop anytime between workshop hours.

Turning Your Trips into Tales: The Art of Travel Writing. Join award-winning author Suzanne Roberts for a one-night travel writing workshop. In this workshop, the basics of writing travel and adventure essays, including crafting your work for an audience, basic revision strategies, and publishing opportunities are discussed. $40/class size is limited, go here to sign up. The event is Oct. 11 and runs from 6 to 9 p.m.

The University of California will host a two-part workshop series on succession planning to help forest landowners learn simple techniques to pass their land and its legacy on to the next generation. The first workshop is being offered at 7 locations throughout California. In the central Sierra Nevada, workshops will be held in Auburn on Oct. 30, Jackson on Nov. 13, and Sacramento on Nov. 15. All workshops will be held from 6 to 8 p.m.

The Tahoe Resource Conservation District will host the the 6th annual Autumn Fest at the Lake Tahoe Demonstration Garden, on the campus of Lake Tahoe Community College from 11am-4pm on Sunday, September 16.
The free festival, run in cooperation with LTCC, is quickly becoming a Tahoe fall tradition packed with activities for all ages, including a silent auction to raise funds for the demonstration garden and conservation landscaping programs in the community.
