Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe to hold its 51st Wine, Beer and Food Tasting

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe (SISLT) has announced its 51st annual "Evening of Wine, Beer, and Food Tasting," happening on November 1, 2024, at the Harrah's Convention Center. This year’s theme is “Diamonds and Denim,” so bring your best cowboy hats and boots for a night of sparkling fun.

Enjoy live music from Lake Tahoe's own Cash Only Band and indulge in a fabulous array of tastings.

On Saturday, November 2, the doors open at 6:30 p.m. with the show starting at 7 p.m. Following the performance, join the organizers for an exclusive reception in the Grand Hall, where you can meet the playwrights, cast, and fellow theatre lovers!

Then on Sunday, November 3, the matinee starts at 2 p.m.

Santa Rosa Holiday Doll Show

The Redwood Empire Doll & Study Club presents our annual Santa Rosa Holiday Doll Show & Sale, Sunday, November 3, 10am-3:30pm. Santa Rosa Veterans Building, 1351 Maple Ave, Santa Rosa (across from the Fairgrounds). FREE PARKING. Admission is $6 ($1 off with this ad). Children under 12 are free with an adult. Lunch is available on-site from Lone Pine General Store. We belong to the United Federation of Doll Clubs. A $50 Fashion Doll Reclamation Workshop for ages 7+ is happening during the show. Learn skills and take home your renewed doll (doll & materials incl.).

Learn history of the Carson Valley at free Minden Mill presentation

MINDEN, Nev. - Join local historians David and Gayle Woodruff as they reflect on the deep and rich history of the Carson Valley in a free 55-minute slide show on Sunday, November 3 at 1 p.m.

Using seldom-seen photographs and extensive research, the Woodruffs examine the important roles played by the Minden Flour Milling Company and its magnificent buildings, the Virginia and Truckee Railroad, Genoa, the California Trail, and more. All of them were part of the story of creating one of the most historic areas in Nevada.

El Dorado County DOT holding public meeting on upcoming winter snow removal

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - After an overwhelming situation in March 2024, many residents are concerned with snow removal for the upcoming winter. The El Dorado County Department of Transportation (DOT) will be holding a public meeting in South Lake Tahoe to discuss plans for and take questions about the upcoming winter snow removal operations in the unincorporated portions of the Basin.

Jo Koy brings new tour to Tahoe Blue Event Center

Comedian Jo Koy has announced his all-new Jo Koy: Just Being Koy Tour, and one of his stops will be at the Tahoe Blue Event Center on November 9, 2024. Pre-sale will begin Wednesday, May 8 at 12 p.m., and tickets go on sale Thursday, May 9 at 12 p.m. Ticket prices will range from $49 - $125 and will be available to purchase at: TahoeBlueEventCenter.com.

Ancient Forest Society holds fundraiser at Valhalla Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Ancient Forest Society (AFS) invites the South Lake Tahoe community to join them for a special fundraising event on November 10, 2024, at Valhalla’s Grand Hall starting at 3 p.m. This gathering aims to honor their dedicated volunteers and celebrate the significant accomplishments made in the field this season, all while raising vital funds to further our mission of studying and protecting old trees and ancient forests.
