Fall Festival slated for Tahoe Paradise Park

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - A new event is coming to the South Shore - Meyers Mountain Fall Festival on October 19-20, 2024, from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Think Apple Hill meets Oktoberfest and you'll get an idea of the fun festival at Tahoe Paradise Park.

Kree Abravanel, co-founder of Meyers Mountain Market and Music in the Park is bringing this new two-day event for the community to enjoy. Two days filled with fun, food, and fall festivities.

South Tahoe Public Utility District holding Board Candidate Forum

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Please join the South Tahoe Public Utility District for a Board Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 23, at 6 p.m. in the District Board Room.

The Forum is open to the public and is an opportunity for the community to hear statements from each of the four candidates running for one of two seats on November 5: Chris Cefalu, Seth Dallob, Joel Henderson, and Kelly Sheehan.

Each candidate will provide an opening statement, answer questions posed by the audience and then provide a closing statement. The Forum is anticipated to last approximately two hours.

South Tahoe PUD to host public meeting on Recycled Water Strategic Plan

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Tahoe Public Utility District (STPUD) is developing a Recycled Water Strategic Plan to analyze options and establish a roadmap for managing recycled water in the future. Attend the public meeting to learn about the outcomes and ask questions. The meeting will be on Thursday, October 24, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in South Tahoe Public Utility District’s Board Room, located at 1275 Meadow Crest Drive.

Next TERC talk: Forest is a Verb: A Landscape Lens on Climate

Black Ice Theatre Co. and Carson Valley Community Theatre (CVCT) are joining together to present “Misery” a play based on the novel by Stephen King. Black Ice Theatre Co. is based in South Lake Tahoe, and was founded in order to engage audiences through fresh and daring plays that explore themes that are both vital to the modern moment and timeless representations of the human experience. “Misery” will be a departure from the CVCT regular productions, and create a new “Immersive” experience to the audience.

Free workshop for residents to learn about 2025 Medicare plan choices in El Dorado County

(PLACERVILLE, CA) - A free, one-hour virtual workshop to help Medicare recipients understand drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans available in El Dorado County in 2025 is scheduled for Friday, October 25 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The workshop is open to the public and will be held via Zoom and there will be help sessions at all county libraries.

A one-hour question-and-answer period will follow the workshop. The workshop is presented by the El Dorado County Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP).
