Meyers Community Foundation Annual Gear Swap

October 13, 2024 (All day)

On October 13th, the Meyers Community Foundation (MCF) will host the 10th annual Meyers Outdoor Gear Swap in the Westgate Center parking lot, adjacent to the Divided Sky (weather permitting).

Shop until you drop for skis, snowboards, bikes, paddle gear, climbing gear, camping equipment, and other outdoor toys. Cash or Credit Cards will be accepted.

If you’ve got quality summer or winter Outdoor Gear to sell come join us! Merchandise registration will take place from 8am to 9:30am.

Smaine Fund Scramble: A golf fundraiser to support The Smaine Fund

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Smaine Fund, in collaboration with The Hangar Lake Tahoe and PT Revolution, has announced the inaugural Smaine Fund Scramble, a charity golf tournament set to take place on October 13, 2024, at Lake Tahoe Golf Course.

This exciting event will bring together golf enthusiasts and community supporters for a day of friendly competition, the chance to compete for prizes and awards, camaraderie, philanthropy, and the chance to be The Smaine Fund Scramble CHAMPS!

Each Sunday in October, Tipsy Putt will donate $1 for every beer and $1 for every round of mini golf purchased.

Ofri, 31-year-old Israeli from Kibbutz Kfar Aza. Married to Guy who have two daughters, Daya, 2 and Yaara, 10 months. Ofri worked in Kfar Aza’s childhood education until October 7th.

Tahoe Agencies propose permanent location for Meyers Watercraft Inspection Station

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Partner agencies are working to find a permanent home for the aquatic invasive species (AIS) watercraft inspection station in Meyers, Calif. Approximately 8,000 boats are inspected every year to protect Lake Tahoe from aquatic invaders, with 2,000 inspections done at the Meyers station. The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA), El Dorado County, California Tahoe Conservancy, and Tahoe Resource Conservation District will host a public meeting on Monday, October 14 at 5:30 p.m.

The guest speaker will be Susan Magee Clemons, the president of the Glenbrook Historical Society. Her presentation, “Glenbrook—from Timber to Tourism,” will include a slideshow of Glenbrook then and now.

The Glenbrook Historical Society's mission is to preserve, promote, and communicate the history and heritage of Glenbrook, Nevada.

Tahoe Improv Players host ComedySportz San Jose in a match of "witz"

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Saturday, October 19, will be a nostalgic day of improv at the Boathouse Theater honoring Gerry Orton, who is retiring after 31 years as director of Tahoe Improv Players, the lake’s longest-running comedy show.

Orton’s last show features Tahoe Improv Players hosting ComedySportz San Jose in A Match of Witz. Two teams of players will compete for points and laughs with the audience giving suggestions that become hilarious fully improvised scenes. The audience decides the winner of each round and ultimately the match.
