The Brotherhood Motorcycle Club of South Lake Tahoe will have their annual Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner giveaway at 10am at Sierra Community Church located at 1165 Sierra Blvd on Wednesday November 23rd. Thanks to our Hogg Wild XVI event we raised enough money to give 50 complete Turkey dinners to those in need in our community through Christmas Cheer.

Kirkwood Mountain Resort to open Friday

Kirkwood Mountain Resort announced it will open Friday, Nov. 25, the day after Thanksgiving, and remain open through the weekend, and then again from Friday, Dec. 2 to Dec. 4. Kirkwood says it will use midweek operations for on mountain preparation, snow making and readying more terrain. The resort hopes to open for full seven-day-a-week winter operations beginning Friday, Dec. 9. The date may change, however, with significant snowfall.

WSJ: As Bears Multiply, Human Clashes Rise

Forty years after being hunted to near-extinction in many parts of the U.S., black bears have become so plentiful that they are causing trouble for their human neighbors—ripping open camping tents in Colorado, attacking dogs in New Jersey, even breaking into a home in Florida to nab a birthday cake from the kitchen counter. Bear populations have surged so much that several states, including Nevada, Oklahoma and New Jersey, have started or expanded bear hunting seasons.
