Tahoe business and building continues on the west side

On the west side of town, two new buildings are under construction and one is for sale: a Raley's gas station at its shopping center at the "Y" and a new California Conservation Corps facility in Meyers, next to Lira's Supermarket, are currently being built, while Sierra Recovery Center is seeking to move out of its location on Emerald Bay Road.
The CCC's motto is "Hard Work, Low Pay, Miserable Conditions and More . . . " But things are about to get a little more comfortable for both corps members and staff.

The South Shore's recreation Joint Powers Authority (JPA) is seeking applicants to serve on its Bicycle Trail Advisory Committee and its Fields Advisory Committee.
As part of Measure R, passed last month to provide funding for both ballfields and bike trails in the community, committees to advise the JPA on the their needs and various relevant issues must be formed. The committees will consist of seven members each.

On December 16th at 8:30 AM, the South Lake Tahoe Police Department and South Lake Tahoe Fire Department responded to a traffic collision on Cedar Ave. When they arrived on scene, they found a white Toyota pickup had crashed into the back side of the Ski Haus Lodge located at 977 Park Ave. The Toyota stuck a natural gas main that was spewing gas into the lodge and the odor could be smelled a block away.
