Lake Tahoe Home Sales: Is it a Buyer's Market or a Seller's Market?

The median home prices of California homes sold reached a 4-year high in August according to the California Association of Realtors. In their August sales report released this week, CAR reports that home sales fell off slightly for the month but are maintaining a strong pace with 5 straight months of year over year sales gains. They also reported that inventory of homes for sale continues to be an issue with inventory at a 6 year low. You will notice similar trends in Lake Tahoe as I explain in more detail below.

The Lake Tahoe Regional Young Professionals will keep the fall feisty with their next mixer at the new Pub inside 968 Park Hotel, Sept. 26 from 7:30 – 10 p.m.
Pizzas, cheese and fruit platters will be bountiful throughout the evening so belly up to the bar for drink specials and sample organic New Belgium Brewery Beers, Organic wine or a cup of Joe.
Non-TRYP members who attend mixers will have a $5-10 cover fee depending on the event, while members are free.

Letter: Thank you to Community and Numerous Fire and Police Responders

The South Lake Tahoe Fire Department and Police Department responded to a fire at Pioneer Trail and April Drive on the evening of September 18th. Upon arrival, they saw that two homes were fully engulfed with nearby trees also on fire.

Police warn of gas company scam

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department received information of a scam to access retiree’s financial information. A person falsely presents themself as a representative from the local gas company and offers to set up an appointment to review the customer’s financial records. The representative claims they can lower the gas bill, if they can review the financial documents.
The public should know Southwest Gas will not ever send anyone out to review personal financial information of customers.
