Douglas authorities report 10 arrests in casino area

New Year's Eve at Lake Tahoe went off without many problems, Douglas County authorities report, with crowds down to around 30,000 within the Stateline casino areas. There were 10 arrests during the celebration and a DUI arrest outside the casino area, said DCSO Sgt. Jim Halsey.
Among the charges were disorderly conduct, trespassing, minor consuming alcohol, battery, domestic battery, battery on a peace officer and civil protective custody.

CARSON CITY – More than 2,300 Nevada nonprofit groups have had their tax exempt status revoked by the Internal Revenue Service. The revocations run the gamut, from the Edgewood Tahoe Mens Club to the Lovelock Alfalfa Seed Growers. Most of the revocations occurred in 2010 but were just posted by the agency last year.
