With the support of multiple Lake Tahoe and Sierra early-season snowfalls, including 24 inches in the past two days, and plenty of cold weather days and nights, Sierra Resort will open top to bottom, including West Bowl, on Saturday, Dec. 15.

West Bowl offers long cruisers and intermediate to advanced runs, along with unbeatable views of Pyramid Peak and Desolation Wilderness. Beginners to experts now have the opportunity to enjoy over 2,212 feet of vertical terrain, three terrain parks, and lessons for all ages and ability levels.

Nevada begins bike trail to connect around Lake Tahoe

Crews have completed the first mile of a bike path on the Nevada-side of Lake Tahoe. The Tahoe Transportation district ultimately plans to create a bike trail that circles the lake.

The first mile of bike trail on the Nevada-side of the lake stretches from Stateline on the south shore north toward Nevada beach. Carl Hasty with the Tahoe Transportation District says a recent $12,000 check from the non-profit Tahoe Fund will go toward completing another mile next summer.
