CASA Box Lunch fundraiser back in SLT, orders now being accepted

Event Date:
December 7, 2021 - 11:00am

Child Advocates of El Dorado serves up lunch for a cause Thursday, April 7 — time to get those order forms filled out.

CASA’s Boxed Lunch fundraiser is a way to get a delicious lunch while helping a worthy cause.

This year the event is dedicated to CASA El Dorado’s 30th anniversary. Established in 1992, Child Advocates have provided support, empowerment and a voice for at-risk youth consistently for a solid 30 years.

A significant percentage of El Dorado County youth are in the foster care system, according to CASA’s website. Court appointed advocates provide these youth with individualized support, empowerment and compassion.
This fundraiser directly supports this work and helps to fund the recruitment, training and ongoing supervision of volunteer advocates.
CASA notes:
• Foster children who are served by a CASA advocate receive more services to help them recover from their abuse or neglect.
• Children who have a CASA in their lives are half as likely to end up in long-term foster care.
• Children who exit the child welfare system with the help of a CASA advocate are 50% less likely to reenter the system.

Lunch options range from a turkey or a ham and Swiss sandwich (both with bacon) with chips or a Greek salad. Options feature a cookie and Barsotti juice and everything is packaged in a CASA-branded reusable lunch tote ready for use year-round. Lunches are $13.50 and those hungry to help can place an order online at casaeldorado.org/casa-el-dorado-box-lunch-fundraiser.

Orders are due by Tuesday, March 22. Lunches will be delivered to local businesses (10 or more orders) or available for pick up at three drive-thru locations: El Dorado County Fairgrounds in Placerville, Rolling Hills Church in El Dorado Hills and the South Lake Tahoe County Library.
