Keep Memory Alive's Summer Social and Rodeo

GLENBROOK, Nev. - The annual Summer Social and Rodeo is one of Keep Memory Alive’s signature events with all proceeds staying in Nevada to help fund and facilitate world-class research and programming at the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health. This is the state’s only multidisciplinary specialized Top 10 Neurological program, which supports patients and families impacted by neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, multiple sclerosis, and Huntington’s disease.

A community-grown rodeo dating back to the early 1940s, the Glenbrook Rodeo was an annual highlight until it was discontinued in 1965. Keep Memory Alive founder and Chairman Larry Ruvo and his wife, Camille, along with the McGill family, resurrected the tradition in 2000 in the property’s 5,000-square-foot historical barn that dates back to the 1870s.

The rodeo on July 8 at 2 p.m. features bull and bronco riding, ribbon roping, and barrel racing. In addition, there are kids’ activities, a Western-style barbecue with refreshing summer cocktails, and a silent auction with an incredible variety of luxury gifts ranging from jewelry and travel packages to sports memorabilia.

The following evening, Sunday, July 9 at 5:30 p.m., is an extraordinary evening of cuisine perfectly paired with luxury wines and spirits selected by Master Sommeliers. After dinner, guests will be treated to a private performance by rock legend REO Speedwagon.
