Nevada Museum of Art to Present Reno Jazz Orchestra Concert

The Reno Jazz Orchestra will present “Creative Directions in Jazz” at the Nevada Museum of Art on October 21, 2022. The program is presented as part of UPSTAGE: A Literary and Performing Art Series supported by the Nightingale Family Foundation and the Williams Foundation. The concert will showcase original compositions by contemporary composers.
During this innovative concert, the audience will be treated to the seventeen-piece Orchestra’s musical journey exploring new, creative directions in jazz during this one-of-a-kind event.

This concert is all new material that will be professionally produced at recording sessions at the University of Nevada, Reno.

The Reno Jazz Orchestra has recorded five albums, primarily of previously created works. Its SPIRITS album, which is a tribute to the popular 70s band ‘Earth, Wind and Fire’ has been submitted to be considered for a GRAMMY award.
Tickets for the 7:30 pm performance will be available through the Nevada Museum of Art’s website at NevadaArt.org. Museum Members’ ticket price is $35, $40 for the general public and student tickets are $20.

About the Reno Jazz Orchestra
The Reno Jazz Orchestra has been based in Northern Nevada for over 20 years and was formed by musicians who performed and traveled the world with acts such as Frank Sinatra, Sammy Davis Jr., Elvis Presley, Natalie Cole, Luciano Pavarotti, and other legendary performers. The tradition of jazz excellence set by the founders continues today with jazz professors, educators, and graduates from the University of Nevada, Reno, jazz studies program setting new standards of performance.
