A bit of magic took place on the 17th hole this weekend at Edgewood Tahoe golf course when Golden State Warriors superstar Stephen Curry asked a young fan dressed in all-Warriors gear to join him on the green. Tyler Golla from Sparks ran on to the course to meet his favorite idol.

Security followed closely behind as Curry made Golla, 15, comfortable by letting him take part in an improvised hoops shoot-out in front of hundreds of fans – and with Justin Timberlake joining the competition. As Golla shot the ball, Curry and Timberlake signed his Warriors hat.

For 12 years the antics of a group of Sacramento friends on the 7th hole at Edgewood Tahoe have drawn the attention of not only those attending the American Century Championship Pro-Am round in South Lake Tahoe, but also the attention of Justin Timberlake, NBC Sports, Corona, AJ Hawk, Mark Rypien, Steph Curry and many others.

The American Century celebrity-amateur tournament begins at Edgewood Tahoe on Thursday, July 13 at 8:00 a.m. with a shotgun start. On the first hole will be Steph Curry of the Golden State Warriors, who was in Los Angeles Wednesday evening to accept an ESPY award with his teammates for "Best Team."

The celebrities golfing over at Edgewood for the 27th American Century Championship has the opportunity to stop over the at Korbel booth and participate in the 10th annual “Korbel Celebrity Spray-Off” on Thursday, July 21. This year, the bassist for Rascal Flatts, Jay DeMarcus, won top honors with his cork flying 80 feet.

As the prepared to tee off on the 18th hole, Korbel challenged celebrity and sports superstars to demonstrate their best champagne-popping talents at the Celebrity Spray-Off.

In just over a week, the eyes of sports fans will be on Lake Tahoe as the 27th annual American Century Golf Championship opens at Edgewood Tahoe. The field of 86 celebrities from sports, television, music, stage, screen, politics, Nascar, and the US Marine Corps are all headed to the South Shore July 19-24 to play.

"The golfers anticipate getting the invitation letter to play," said Former NFL Head Coach and ESPN Analyst Herm Edwards. "We get excited at that moment."

The second round of the American Century Golf Championship will be played on Saturday, starting at 7:40 a.m. Mark Mulder and Jack Wagner share the lead with a 26 in the Stableford styled scoring system.

It will be a long day of golf on Thursday for the celebrities in South Lake Tahoe for the American Century Golf Championship. Not all celebrities golfing in the championship will be taking part in the Celebrity-Am, but 55 of them are.

Tee times start at 6:50 a.m. at Edgewood Tahoe.

On July 18th 15 of some of the world’s most legendary athletes and entertainers competed in Lake Tahoe for the Korbel Closest-to-the-Pin Challenge as part of the American Century Championship, currently being played at the Edgewood Golf Course. NFL Former Pro Bowl Quarterback Mark Rypien who was the inaugural tournament champion took home the title after teeing off from Hole 17 and placing his ball just seven feet away from the pin winning a $5,000 donation for The Tahoe Fund from the Korbel Toast Life® Foundation.
