$100K from 30th annual American Century Championship awarded to local nonprofits
Submitted by paula on Thu, 10/10/2019 - 4:26pmLAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – Thursday was money giveaway day at the Lake Tahoe Visitors Authority (LTVA) meeting at Stateline. Thirty-eight local nonprofits were given checks totaling $100,000, a result of funds raised during the 30th annual American Century Championship at Edgewood.
El Dorado Community Foundation awards over $260,000 in grants
Submitted by paula on Mon, 12/05/2016 - 5:55pmMajor impacts to communities in El Dorado County were made possible through $264,905 in grants for 2016/2017 from the El Dorado Community Foundation.
Funding for the came from community members who invested in the foundation through Donor Assisted Funds. Those donating to the fund were able to engage in a new process this year by reading the grant proposals (55 were received) and the year-end reports of the non-profits applying for them.

Celebrity Golf Tournament gives over $115,000 to local causes and charities

The 22 groups were each given between $1,000 and $3,000. The LTVA, in partnership with NBC Sports and American Century Investments, previously directed an additional $67,200 through on-site volunteer organizations and other efforts during tournament week to area high schools, Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe, South Lake Tahoe Booster Club, Boys and Girls Club of South Lake Tahoe, and the Gene Upshaw Scholarship
South Tahoe Middle School Students Treated to Shopping Spree

On Saturday, October 5. The Assistance League® of Sierra Foothills (ALSF) partnered with the South Lake Tahoe Kmart to bring the Operation School Bell® program to the students.
