Children's Theatre

Del Laine has left her mark on South Lake Tahoe in ways that many local residents might not know. She was a mover and shaker, whose focus was on making the city a better place. Her most important role, though, was promoting the well-being of women.

This pioneer died Dec. 18, 2020, at home from natural causes, with family at her side. She was 90.

She was born Dolores Mae Wright on March 20, 1930, in Oakland, Calif., to Mabel Paulson and Leslie Wright.

Auditions will be held for Missoula Children's Theatre production of Pinocchio on Monday, July 11 at South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose Room from 10:00 to 12:00. Those auditioning should arrive at 10:00 and plan to stay for the full two hours. Auditions are free and if cast there is a $50 per child fee to participate in this week long theater experience. Sixty children from the South Lake Tahoe community are participating in the Missoula Children's Theatre production of Aladdin in two performance on July 10, one at 3:00 p.m. and the other at 6 p.m.. Sponsored by the Tahoe Arts Project, this annual event gives children the chance to shine on the local stage.

Both performances will take place at the South Tahoe Middle School Multi-Purpose room.
