South Lake Tahoe retirees file lawsuit against the City
Submitted by paula on Fri, 12/11/2015 - 1:20pmWhen the recession hit and many cities were faced with bankruptcy and skyrocketing healthcare costs for their employees, retirees had benefits cut or renegotiated. The City of South Lake Tahoe survived those turbulent times by taking a look at the costs they could reduce or restructure, and benefits for retirees was one that took a hit.
Now, many of those employees have filed a lawsuit against the City.
Money secured for Hwy 89 improvement projects at Meeks Bay and Tahoe City
Submitted by paula on Wed, 10/21/2015 - 7:11pmThere will soon be a new Fanny Bridge in Tahoe City now that the Tahoe Transportation District has secured all of the $33 million needed to complete the State Route 89/Fanny Bridge Community Revitalization Project and Meeks Bay Trail Project.
South Lake Tahoe Area Plan Amended to Accommodate Edgewood Change
Submitted by paula on Tue, 04/01/2014 - 9:04pmAs Edgewood Properties moves forward with their plans to reconfigure holes on their golf course to accommodate for a new lake front lodge, they asked the City of South Lake Tahoe City Council today for a change in the area's general plan. The original Edgewood Tahoe plans were to have 100% of the golf course in the state of Nevada, but have now altered those plans to have some of the course venture into California on Edgewood owned land.
