Click it or Ticket campaign on Nevada roadways
Submitted by paula on Thu, 05/11/2017 - 9:11pmThrough the end of May, the Nevada Highway Patrol, Douglas County Sheriff's Office and other local law enforcement agencies have launched Click it or Ticket, an campaign to educate motorists on seatbelt usage. During this time, officers will be joining forces and watching for drivers and occupants in vehicles who are not wearing their seatbelts and/or children who are not properly secured in car or booster seat(s). Law enforcement will be stopping drivers for traffic offenses and issuing citations for seatbelt violations if unbuckled.
Nevada law enforcement cracking down on seat belt violations

As part of the national seat belt enforcement campaign, law enforcement agencies around the country will be stepping up enforcement May 18-31, including one of the busiest travel weekends of the year that kicks off the summer season.

The Nevada Highway Patrol has launched a multi-county "Click it or Ticket" campaign to educate drivers on the importance of using seat belts.
In Nevada, between 2007 and 2011, 441 unbelted vehicle occupants lost their lives and 1,197 were seriously injured in traffic crashes on our roadways
Seat Belts Save Lives: Deaths on the Rise For Unbelted Vehicle Occupants

In 2012, 10,335 unbelted vehicle occupants lost their lives. In Nevada, 41 unbelted vehicle occupants died last year.
